Brief Description of Acid Gases

Acid gases, dissolved in water, will react to form acids, including other compounds such as sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides. The content of such gases in the atmosphere is extremely small and even undetectable in some areas. The presence of acid gases can increase the corrosion of pipes and equipment and affect their service life.


Hazards of Acid Gases

Some acid gases are harmful to us human beings. For example, if the air is polluted, it contains sulfur dioxide, sulfur trioxide, etc. These gases react chemically with oxygen in rainy days to generate strong acid chemicals such as sulfuric acid. Sulfuric acid has a strong corrosive effect. Corrosion will naturally occur to objects on the ground. This is acid rain. Acid rain has the greatest impact on trees, which can cause death and seriously affect the living environment of human beings. Therefore, the world pays special attention to the environment and has formulated many measures to reduce the production of factories that pollute the air.


Methods of Acid Gas Removal

The most common method is the adsorption method. According to the method of acid-base neutralization, the effect of neutralization and adsorption can be achieved by adding alkaline agents to the water. Such waste gas treatment equipment is a treatment system called an acid gas scrubber.

Acid Gas Scrubber System Introduction

The acid waste gas enters the purification tower tangentially from the air inlet below the waste gas treatment tower body, and quickly fills the space of the air inlet section under the power of the fan, and then evenly rises to the first-stage packing absorption section through the equalizing section. On the surface of the filler, the acidic (or alkaline) substances in the gas phase react chemically with the alkaline (or acidic) substances in the liquid phase, and the reacted substances (mostly soluble acids (bases)) flow into the lower storage liquid with the absorbing liquid groove.

The acid (or alkaline) gas that is not completely absorbed continues to rise into the first-stage spray section. In the spray section, the absorbing liquid is sprayed from the uniformly distributed nozzles at high speed to form numerous fine droplets, which are fully mixed and contacted with the gas, and continue to undergo chemical reactions, and then the acidic (alkaline) gas rises to the secondary packing section and the spray section. An absorption process similar to the first stage is carried out.

The nozzle density of the second stage is different from that of the first stage, the spray pressure is different, and the concentration range of the absorbed acid (alkaline) gas is also different. The process of two-phase contact in the spray section and the packing section is also a process of heat transfer and mass transfer. By controlling the superficial flow rate and residence time, the process is fully and stable. The uppermost part of the waste gas treatment tower is the demisting section, where the absorbing liquid droplets trapped in the gas are removed, and the treated clean air is discharged into the atmosphere from the exhaust pipe at the upper end of the waste gas purification tower.

Performance characteristics of acid mist purification tower:


1. High purification efficiency

The acid mist purification tower adopts two-stage reverse spraying, and the packing has a large specific surface area. The gas-liquid ratio determined by the experimental study ensures stable performance, and the purification efficiency of acid waste gas of various concentrations can reach 85%-95%.

2. Low equipment resistance

On the basis of ensuring sufficient gas-liquid contact area, the 0 acid mist purification tower selects the packing variety and structure with the best aerodynamic properties, so that the equipment resistance does not exceed 40 mm water column under the rated air volume, which is the resistance among various packing absorption towers in China. the lowest one. The acid mist purification tower combines the tower body, the absorption liquid tank, the circulating pump and the absorption liquid pipeline system into a complete set of equipment. The structure is compact, which is convenient for on-site installation and operation management. Adaptable.

4. Scope of application: sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and other exhaust gases and sulfur oxides (SOx), Nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon oxides (CO, CO2) and other acid gases, the use of acid mist purification towers can achieve satisfactory results.
