Wet scrubbers are effective air pollution control devices used to remove particulates and/or harmful gases from industrial waste streams. Wet scrubbers operate by introducing a dirty gas stream into the scrubbing liquid (usually water + neutralizing liquid). Particles or gases are collected in the scrubbing liquid. Wet scrubbers are often the most suitable air pollution control equipment for collecting particulate matter and gases in a single system. It can effectively treat acidic and alkaline waste gas.
