How to deal with paint waste gas?

The function of painting is to improve the aesthetics of items and the durability of the equipment. Still, the environmental damage caused by the VOC exhaust gas released by this process is extensive. The formulation of painting exhaust gas treatment is also an element of current ecological protection governance. So for companies and people who are first exposed to waste gas treatment technology, it is inevitable that there will be difficulties in the selection of equipment.

The treatment processes of organic waste gas mainly include combustion method, absorption method, plasma catalytic oxidation method, adsorption method, photocatalytic method, etc. However, the low-temperature plasma technology and UV photo-oxygen catalytic treatment technology are not effective, and the emission standards cannot be met after treatment. Therefore, when dealing with organic waste gas, combustion method and absorption method are usually used.


Advantages and disadvantages of combustion and absorption methods for organic waste gas treatment:

Combustion method: In simple terms, it uses the process of heating the exhaust gas to heat the organic exhaust gas for oxidative combustion treatment to achieve the purpose of exhaust gas purification. The purified treatment is carbon dioxide and water, which will not cause secondary pollution. It is currently applicable to A waste gas treatment technology with more comprehensive performance and better treatment effect. The leading equipment includes RTO regenerative incinerator equipment, RCO catalytic combustion, and direct-fired TO furnace equipment.

Advantages: intelligent operation is simple, purification and heat recovery efficiency is high, suitable for processing high-concentration exhaust gas, secondary waste heat recovery can be performed, and production and operation costs are significantly reduced.

Disadvantages: continuous operation is required as much as possible, the one-time investment cost is relatively high, the device is significant, and it can only be placed outdoors.

Adsorption method: Using the porous activated carbon structure of the activated carbon adsorption tower and its huge surface tension characteristics, the organic gas molecules are adsorbed to the surface to achieve the purpose of purifying the exhaust gas. The leading equipment includes activated carbon adsorption and desorption, activated carbon adsorption and desorption, catalytic combustion, and so on.

Advantages: wide application, simple operation, suitable for processing low-concentration, large-volume waste gas, low investment cost.

Disadvantages: The saturation point of the adsorbent is challenging to grasp, the adsorbent capacity is limited, and if there is no regeneration device, the operating cost is relatively high.

 

The current research on waste gas treatment technology and the selection of equipment are becoming more and more perfect, and there are more treatment technologies to choose from. Most of the waste gas of paint spraying enterprises is characterized by benzene series, large air volume, and small concentration. Therefore, activated carbon adsorption is adopted. There are many enterprises with catalytic combustion technology. However, choosing technical equipment for waste gas treatment equipment with higher cost performance still needs to be based on the enterprise's point of view.
